WHAT IS HANKIDO?
Hankido has 3 forms of movement.
- Moo-ye, artistic dance form
- Ho-shin-sool, self defence form
- Ho-heob-bup, static form incorporating abdominal breathing exercise
and ki energy management.
A Hankido practitioner must first study Moo-ye. Moo-ye incorporates gentle movements which develop grace and balance, the preliminaries for studying Ho-shin-sool.
Ho-shin-sool converts Moo-ye [dance forms] into devastating self-defence. This can be by controlling an opponent by harmonizing with their energy, and using that energy to perform powerful throws and joint locks.
Ho-heob-bup finalizes Hankido by developing the correct breathing techniques to Moo-ye and Ho-shin-sool.
